Ok, so i admit, it was allot fo fun driving down to Alberta....But i tell you, what a pain driving back home! BORING!!!!!! Anyway...we drove from Saskatchewan, Canada, through North Dakota and are now in Minnesota (i think)...It's been a really long day!
Well, it's time to head out of Alberta and back to Ontario.....But before i go i need to share with you all my moose! Yea, i know, it's a lousy picture but this guy just wouldn't stand up and pose for a picture! I think someone tipped him off that i was looking for him!
I have travelled to find sand and get away from the snow, but i have never travelled to find the snow! And, i will never do that again! After this trip, i have decided i am a beach gal through and through! We drove to Banff to go to the Columbia ice fields! Man, was it cold! And who in the heck wears shorts to an ice field!!!! But then again, who carries mitts and hats with them in the summer!

We spent the day ( well we tried too) at the Calgary stampede, we went about one in the afternoon but quickly escaped by 5. We decided to go back to the hotel to kill 2 1/2 hours before the Kenny concert. That place is ABSOLUTELY nuts!

Rob arrived in Alberta to play with us for 5 days!!!!! His 4 hour flight sounded like a breeze compared to the hours of driving we put into getting here! But then, we saw some great stuff along the way....he just saw sky! He arrived and we took off for Banff, too much Calgary is not a good thing! It reminds me of Toronto...That's a bad thing!!!

We spent the day doing a few loads of laundry, then out for lunch....trying to kill time. Finally it was time to get going to the saddledome at the Calgary stampede! We walked to red lobster where we met Katie and her mom Cheryl from Dawson, British Columbia! What nice people they are! They invited us to share their taxi with them, they knew taxi's were going to be hard to get tonight! Thank you Cheryl and Katie for taking us by the hand and getting us to the stampede and into the saddledome with no problems! You two rock!!!!!!
Finally the concert begins and Kelly Pickler comes on! She was awesome!
Then it was time for Taylor to come on! OMG,She rocked! We saw her last year in concert and it was ok, but she really has her act together this year!!!!
I did stop to take pictures on the way down, and to tell you the truth...it was easier crawling down the mountain than up!
We finally get to Alberta and during our drive Kailey pretends she is sleeping and i see this truck roll by and i think, what a pretty truck with Taylor swifts picture on it! WHAT! LOL, I tap Kailey on the shoulder and as she opens her eyes there is taylors truck rolling by her window! She grabbed the camera and snapped these pictures!
That is the end of our day! The rest was uneventful and we are very tired! (all that mountain climbing)
We woke up this morning with this great idea to go white water rafting! It was a really great idea at the time! Then it turned insane! So we get there and the sun is shining....Then we get bussed down to the flathead river. Jump in the raft.....And it starts! First it starts to rain, then the thunder and lightening start! Then it hails!!!! OMG, who's idea was this???? Oh yea, it was Kailey's! Great idea Kails! But our great leader Bryan assured us we were safe in the raft and going to have a blast! Did he really believe that? Well, the rain poured in buckets...and if we weren't quite wet enough we hit a rock in the river and BOOM we all got drenched! The only thing we were missing was ...ummm...snow! And, let me tell you it was not a nice drenching because the water was 47 degrees! Brrrr
But the good news......as soon as we were done our 2 hour raft trip, the sun came out and the rest of the afternoon was beautiful! Ha!
So Kailey and i decided to take a little drive on...."Going to the sun" road! Sounds like fun, right? Going to the sun, of course, makes you think sun, beach, fun, palm trees...oh wait, that's my idea of going to the sun! Here in Montana...It takes on a whole other meaning!

and so she makes a snowball! Like she has never seen snow before!
and the same dirty snow we have for 7 months in Ontario!
So after about 12 miles of winding ourselves silly around this mountain i decided that before i have a heart attack, i needed to turn around. I am just not meant to climb mountains in my jeep with a 6 foot wide road! So we turn around and boot it down, ok, i did not boot....i did a SLOW crawl....but we got down alive and i'm never going back up there!!!!!!
We drove forever today, from Yellowstone park to Crazy Horse, Montana! Ha ha ha, who names a town that?
Throughout the drive there are lots of markers of historical places that Lewis and Clark travelled. I have no idea who that is, but they sure travelled a long way!!!!!
Anyway, i did stop to take a picture of this, mainly because it was very neat looking and i was happy to see our Canadian flag! I think i am missing home...ok, maybe for 10 minutes i am! I miss Rob, the dog, the stupid bird....yea
We found a nice little cabin to stay at for 2 days.
Before nightfall we took a drive over to see Crazy horse dam! Kailey didn't like it, she said it was too scarey.
I feel a little silly when i open my suitcase to see shorts, skirts, Tanks and t- shirts! This place is insanely freezing! It was 59 degrees today...and that is WAY too cold for this Islandgirl! I talked to a man that lives here and he told me the hottest day in Montana would be in the low 70's!!!! YIKES!!! That is like hat, mitts and coat weather to me!!!! But it all makes sense to me now! When i was looking on the internet for a hotel here they all said indoor pools. I thought that was very strange, now i know why! It would be a pain to chip the ice away everyday so the guest could swim in a pool! It's a beautiful place with beautiful scenery, but i certainly could NOT live here! But the animals don't seem to mind the blizzard like weather!
